Kids Education in Impoverished Neighborhoods in India

education - a basic necessity & a fundamental right

Education is the means to a better life. We believe that whether you are addressing healthcare, poverty, unemployment or human rights, there's no better place to start than in the corridors of education.

To create the greatest impact, our goal is to support education initiatives for underprivileged kids living in impoverished neighborhoods. It empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood as well as increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one's rights - and in the process evolve as a better citizen.

HealthShine is focused on partnering with local organizations who can collaboratively work on projects to provide greater access to education resources for the underprivileged. We are happy to announce that we partnered with Smile Foundation to implement one such project in the slums near New Delhi, India. This project was being led and managed by Serena Hirani.

Phase 1 Project - $2,500 US dollars

Timeframe - June - Aug 2022

Project Impact

This project helped support children education for 25 kids in slums near Dhaula Kuan near Delhi, India. This involved providing for a year of education expenses, books and other supplies. Its a baby step towards creating informed, educated citizens, who will contribute to society in a meaningful way.

Smile foundation - Our Local Partner

Healthshine is collaborated with our local India partner, Smile Foundation, to successfully implement the project.

Smile Foundation is an NGO based in India, working on grassroots initiatives for effecting positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, their families, and communities.

Smile's Mission Education is a national level program which is focused on providing basic education to underprivileged children.
