  • Our goal is to support education initiatives for underprivileged kids.

    Serena Hirani worked with SMILE foundation, a local NGO in India, to implement this project in a slum community near Duala Kuan in Delhi. This included yearly education expenses, books and other supplies.

  • India was going through an unprecedented COVID-19 wave with potentially catastrophic consequences. The death and illness needed to be contained to limit long-term systemic damage to society. Our goal was to help provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the medical doctors and staff so they are well protected while taking care of the patients. This project was organized and led by Serena Hirani and Sia Belani.

  • HealthShine organized a fund raiser and with the proceeds, procured brand new toys, games, and activity sets for the Dr Bears’ Closet at Children’s National Hospital.

    Hope these help make the kids stay at the hospital a little more pleasant and they carry with them nice lasting memories. This project was being led and managed by Serena Hirani.

  • HealthShine organized a fund raiser and with the proceeds, procured food items and essential supplies for the Katherine Henley Family Shelter, a social services organization in Fairfax county, Virginia.

    Katherine Henley shelter provides dignified living accommodations for families. They envision a community free of homelessness and domestic violence. This project was led and managed by Serena Hirani.

  • With the help of the Ashray Social Welfare Foundation, we were able to educate and distribute the first batch of 100+ LifeStraws to school children in rural areas of Gujarat. Our co-founder, Rohan Hirani, worked closely with the team from Ashray to ensure the proper distribution of the LifeStraws all the young students in the village in Gujarat, India.

  • HealthShine partnered with Spark-a-Change Foundation (SAC) in India to help better prepare students for the future. The first phase involved providing high-tech tablets to 18 underprivileged children in a Mumbai slum.

    This will expose them to the latest technological trends, and hopefully inspire them to greater achievements in life.

  • HealthShine, in collaboration with Smile Foundation, a local NGO, organized a day long health camp in the Dharavi slums of Mumbai, India. Our team of 2 doctors and 6 para-medical support staff treated approximately 300 patients.

    The primary health checkup included health history, physical exam and any essential tests. Patients were provided basic medicines and any required referrals for serious conditions.

  • Health Shine worked with Ashray Social Welfare Foundation for the procurement and distribution of the eco-friendly sanitary pads to the underprivileged women in a village in Gujarat, India.

    Our work also included spreading awareness on menstrual hygiene and promoting better hygiene practices.

    We provided reusable sanitary pad supplies to each of 435 households in the village. These are expected to last for 12 - 18 months.
